Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan met with Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Ranjit Rae in Hanoi on March 20.

During the meeting, Deputy PM Nhan thanked the diplomat for arranging his upcoming visit to India.

He said the visit aims to tighten bilateral relations and celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-India diplomatic ties and the fifth anniversary of the two countries’ strategic partnership.

During the visit, the two sides will discuss possibilities of boosting cooperation in education, scientific research, studies on India and Vietnam, information technology and communication, nanotechnology, biotechnology, agriculture and national defence.

The Vietnamese delegation plans to meet high-ranking Indian politicians, as well as leaders of groups, universities and Buddhism training centres.

A number of cooperative agreements on IT, biotechnology, research, education and training, will be signed during the visit.
