A meeting was held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Moscow on December 16 to introduce Ryazan province’s economic and investment potential.

At the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador Bui Dinh Dinh emphasized that this is the first time a province from Russia held a meeting to introduce its economic and investment potential at the Vietnamese Embassy in Moscow.

Earlier this year, in June, a Vietnamese delegation led by Ambassador Bui Dinh Dinh paid a working visit to Ryazan to expand their economic and trade relations.

Mr Dinh expressed hope that the event will provide Vietnamese relevant agencies and businesses with useful information, contributing to the development of strategic partnership between Russia and Vietnam, especially in the fields of economics, trade and investment.

A representative of the Ryazan authorities thanked the Vietnamese embassy for their active contribution to the successfully organization of the event and encouraged Vietnamese businesses to invest in Ryazan province.

The meeting was co-organized by the Ryazan province’s authorities, the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnam Entrepreurners Association in Russia.

Ryazan is located in the central part of European Russia, around 187km away to the south-west of Moscow with area of 39.600 square kilometers and a population of more than 1.1 million people.

 

Ryazan’s main economic sectors are energy, petrochemistry, metallurgy, agriculture, tourism. It produces commodities for export to 80 nations in the world.

 

Trade exchange between Ryazan and Vietnam is not big, with US$210,000 in 2008 and US$80,000 in 2009.
