An exhibition of over 100 photos by photographer Nguyen Van Tho focusing on the beauty of Vietnamese women opened at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi on August 6.

Through the exhibition, Tho wants to present portraits of talented Vietnamese women, from senior leaders like former State Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh and Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, to heroic Vietnamese mothers, heros of the people’s armed forces, scientists, teachers, businesswomen, artists and workers.

The photos reflect the typical characteristics of Vietnamese women: faithful, brave, undaunted, responsible and talented, said the Vietnam Association for Photographic Artists.

A book of his photos entitled “Vietnamese Women’s Beauty” is being published along with the exhibition which closes on August 8.

Tho, 77, is a former Vietnam News Agency journalist who has devoted much of his life to the arts, successfully held eight individual exhibitions and published four photo collections.
