A delegation including 10 Japanese businesses will visit the 2007 Viet Craft Exhibition in Hanoi between 14-19 November to seek business opportunities in Vietnam and boost the export of fine arts and handicrafts from Vietnam to Japan, according to the Vietnamese Department of trade promotion.

The delegation will also take part in a workshop on the promotion of fine arts and handicrafts exports to Japan and have direct exchanges with Vietnamese fine arts and handicrafts procedures and exporters in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city.

The visit is co-organized by the Vietnam Trade Office in Japan and the Department of trade promotion under the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Japan has an annual demand for imported fine arts and handicrafts worth nearly US$2 billion/year but Vietnam can only meet approximately one fourtieth of its demand, only 3 percent of its total value of imported fine arts and handicrafts.
