With a grand prize of US$120,000 and an overall prize pool of US$400,000, the categories for the fourth installment of HIPA were ‘Life in Colour' (which also serves as the main theme), ‘General', ‘Faces (Black & White)' and ‘Night Photography.'

The organisers reported that the number of photographs submitted for the latest edition reached 60,162 from a total of 30,878 participants from 166 different countries around the world.

They also announced that the theme for the award's fifth edition will revolve around the universal search for ‘Happiness'.
