A national conference to examine the implementation of thrift practice and wastefulness prevention and to launch an inspection programme in 2007 concluded in Hanoi on April 17 after two days’ sitting.

During the two-day conference, 21 opinions were contributed to reviewing the situation, drawing lessons from practical experience and devising tasks and solutions for implementing thrift practice and wastefulness prevention effectively in the coming period.

The 2007 inspection programme aims to intensify the implementation of thrift practice and wastefulness prevention at a grassroots level with a view to creating drastic changes in anti-corruption work and thoroughly preparing for a draft resolution on reinforcing inspection and supervision of the Party in the coming time.

At the conference, most deputies agreed that practicing thrift and preventing wastefulness and corruption is a major Party policy aimed at ensuring political stability, boosting socio-economic development, consolidating people’s confidence and building a transparent and strong Party and State and a contingent of disciplined, honest and efficient staff.
