White lilies signal arrival of spring
(VOV) - With their bright colours and intense fragrances – lilies, roses, daffodils, and other flowers signal that spring has arrived and symbolize the expectation and joy for the coming year.
White lilies (lilium candidum) line the Hanoi streets this time of year. If you haven’t purchased yours yet, be sure to choose a plant with lots of unopened buds for longer boom enjoyment.
Each branch is now selling for VND3,000-5,000, but will become cheaper in mid-April, when the price will drop to VND2,000 a branch.
The lily bulbs are mainly planted in September and October. However, flower growers must wait until the following April to harvest.
