The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) has decided to inject another 1 million CAD into the rural poverty reduction programme in the southern province of Soc Trang.

Managing Director of the CIDA-Soc Trang project Lauren Garreau said the programme, which started in 2001, has contributed to improving the living conditions of poor farmer households in the province.

The programme comprises four projects to improve living conditions, services and infrastructure development, skills for local managers, and the quality of plant and animal breeding.
