Cuba is ready to hold a dialogue with the US to settle differences between the two countries on the basis of mutual respect, says President Raul Castro.

President Raul made the statement at a the closing session of the Cuban National Assembly in Havana on December 20.

However, he said that the US’s foreign policy toward Cuba has remained unchanged since President Barack Obama took power a year ago.

He accused the US government of maintaining hostile policies towards the Caribbean island nation by sending a contractor to distribute illegal satellite equipment.

The US contractor was arrested in Havana on December 5 supplying electronic appliances, lab tops and cell phones to the opposition forces.
