Vietnam and China discussed demarcation of their land border and marker planting along their common border at a meeting of a joint committee in Hanoi from February 6-13.

Chief delegates of the 19th round of the Inter-government Committee for Land Border Demarcation and Border Marker Planting said that 2007 is the decisive year for the demarcation and marker planting work. They adopted specific measures to complete the work in 2007 to facilitate the whole process as well as the signing of a new document on border management regulations in 2008 as agreed by the two countries’ senior leaders.

The meeting took place in a frank and friendly atmosphere and the two sides agreed to hold the next meeting in Beijing in April.
