The 25-year-old Vietnamese model, Ngo Tien Doan, beat out other 30 contestants worldwide after a 10-day competition to garner the title “Mister International 2008” on November 24 in Taiwan, China.

He became the first Vietnamese model to achieve such a showing in an international modeling contest.

The Mister International Pageant, organized by Alan Slim, chairman of the Mister Organisation in Singapore, has been held since 2006. Another male pageant themed Mr. International, established by India’s Graviera Fashion Group, ended operation in 2003.

Two handsome males, who gained previous Mister International, were Wissam Hanna (Lebanese) in 2006 and Alan Martini (Brazilian) in 2007.

Apart from being one of Vietnam’s leading models, Tien Doan is also a mechanical lecturer at Can Tho University. He also won first prize at Manhunt Vietnam 2006 and the title Mister Physique at Manhunt International 2007 in the Republic of Korea.

At the event, he left the board of examiners with a good impression of his costume, which he designed himself, and called Hung Ca Chim Lac (Epic of the Legendary Bird). He said the costume embodies the pride of being a child of the Dragon Lord Lac Long Quan and the Mountain Fairy Au Co (of the Hung Kings) and of the Vietnamese people.

Prizes of Mister International Pageant 2008 as followed:

Mister International: Ngo Tien Doan (Vietnam)

The first prize: Mohanmad Chamseddine (Lebanon)

The second prize: Zhang Chao (China)

The third prize: Mihovil Barun (Croatia)

The fourth prize: Vincent Cleuren (the Netherlands)
