A three-day meeting is being held in southern Vinh Long province from September 15 to increase Khmer ethnic minority people’s knowledge of national unity.
Deputy Permanent Head of the southwestern province steering board Son Song Son affirmed that the State and Party has always paid special attention to improving the lives of Khmer and other ethnic minorities.

He also urged Khmer and Kinh cadres to increase their professional skills and improve the Khmer language to disseminate the Party and State’s policies to Khmer ethnic people in anticipation of hostile forces’ plot to split the solidarity between Khmer and Kinh people.

In the 1999-2007 period, Vinh Long province spent over VND62.5 billion improving infrastructure in Tan My, Tra Con and Loan My communes.

Over the last three years, the province has built 2,700 houses for Khmer people and provided them access to electricity and fresh water. It has built more pre-schools and schools at all levels for Khmer ethnic children, and expanded bi-lingual classes in the new school year.
