Party anniversary celebrated abroad

(VOV) - Many Vietnam embassies abroad have celebrated the 85th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930-2015). 

On February 2, the Vietnam Embassy in Japan hosted a ceremony marking 85 years since the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and launched an emulation movement welcoming the upcoming 12th National Party Congress.

In his statement, Party Committee Secretary of the Vietnam Embassy in Japan Doan Xuan Hung reviewed the 85-year history of the construction and development of the Party organization, noting that the CPV led the people to overcome difficulties and challenges, helping the nation get out of invasion, protect and build the country from poverty and underdeveloped status into a nation with an increasingly important role and profile in the region and the world.

Ambassador Dung asked all embassy staff to promote the glorious tradition of the Party and the nation, stay active in fulfilling assigned tasks, follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example and contribute to further promotion of the extensive Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership.

At the ceremony, young Embassy staff shared what they thought about the historical path of the CPV as well as national issues of their concern and talked about the responsibility of each party members in their specific positions so as to make greater contributions to the cause of the Party and the whole nation.

Meanwhile, the Vietnam Embassy in Laos has hosted receptions for Lao top officials, who conveyed their congratulatory messages and highlighted the robust development of the traditional relationship and solidarity between the two countries’ governments, parties and people. 

A meeting was organised in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, in recognition of the holiday to discuss the outcomes from CPV activities last year as well as 2015 tasks, including preparations for the 12th National Party Congress . 

The Vietnam Embassy in the UK and Northern Ireland also held a ceremony in London on February 3. 

Addressing the event, Ambassador Nguyen Van Thao reviewed the 85 glorious years of building and developing the Party. 

The same day, a delegation of representatives from the Vietnam Embassy, the Vietnamese Business Association in Singapore and the Vietnamese community laid down a wreath of flowers in tribute to the late President Ho Chi Minh at his statue in front of the Asian Civilisations Museum. 

The birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 3, 1930 was an important historical event and a significant turning point in the history of the Vietnamese revolution.
