The 2007 National Junior Wushu Championship took place at the Trinh Hoai Duc competition hall in Hanoi on July 18 with the participation of 275 athletes of 30 sporting delegations from across the country.
The athletes will compete for 47 sets of medals, including 34 in the Taolu event (performance) and 13 in the Sanshou (combat).
The sporting delegations are from An Giang, Bac Giang, the People’s Police, Cao Bang, Da Nang, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Dong Nai, Gia Lai, Ha Giang, Hanoi, Ha Tay, Ha Tinh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Khanh Hoa, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Nghe An, Phu Tho, the People’s Army, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Quang Ninh, Tay Ninh, Thai Binh, Thai Nguyen, Ho Chi Minh City, Tuyen Quang and Vinh Phuc.
The championship has drawn many outstanding athletes namely Quoc Khanh, Tra My, Mai Phuong and Thuy Linh who will participate in the upcoming 24th SEA Games in Thailand.
The competition will conclude on July 20, 2007.
