The Hanoi Centre for Seeds and Plants’ project to grow wet rice in the Republic of Mozambique has been approved by the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The project aims to increase the quality and productivity of wet rice cultivation in certain areas of Mozambique, thus helping to raise the incomes and living standards of the country’s farmers, and ensure an adequate food supply.

Hanoi’s agriculture experts will transfer advanced wet rice technology, educate and train farmers in Macia, Gaza province and supply high-quality seed suitable to that area.

The project is expected to double or triple Mozambique’s wet rice productivity.
