Four Vietnamese athletes will compete at the world's biggest marathon which is scheduled to kick off in Nairobi, Kenya, on October 29, according to an official from the National Committee for Sports and Physical Training.

These athletes including Nguyen Dang Duc Bao, Hoang Van Bau, Nguyen Chi Dong, and Nguyen Van Long, will take part in the race under the sponsorship of the Vietnam-based Standard Chartered Bank, said Duong Duc Thuy, Chief of the Track and Field Department.

This is the third consecutive year the bank has provided financial support for Vietnamese athletes' participation in the biggest marathon event in the world.

The competition will offer an opportunity for local athletes to gain more experience, said the official.
