Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day celebrated in Laos

(VOV) -On the occasion of Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day (October 13), the Association of Vietnam Investors in Laos (AVIL) held a ceremony to honour those who do business in the country.

Speaking at the ceremony on October 10, AVIL Chairman Nguyen Duc Moc said that October 13 is a day set aside to reflect on the importance of Vietnam entrepreneurs and wish them success in business and family life.

Their success benefits the whole community, the spokesperson said.

Vietnam businesses have pumped over US$5 billion into 410 manufacturing facilities in Laos, making them one of the leading investors in the Southeast Asian nation.

In 2015, the representative said, the total FDI in the country is forecast to balloon to over US$5.8 billion and with the two-way trade turnover remarkably mushrooming to US$1.5-1.7 billion.

Moc also thanked the Party and State of Vietnam and Laos for creating favourable conditions bolstering cooperation and investment between the two nations.

At the ceremony, the AVIL also launched a social welfare program to provide assistance to needy people in Laos.
