Nearly 300 delegates including AO victims, war veterans, and ex-volunteers in 45 provinces and cities nationwide has paid floral tributes at the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Heroic Martyr’s Monument on August 5.

Earlier on August 4, the Vietnam Agent Orange (AO) victims Association in co-ordination with the Centre for Education of Historic Tradition organised a press conference to introduce an exchange programme for families of AO victims to mark the AO victims’ Day (August 10).

The Centre’s director Le Xuan Niem said the exchange programme, will be launched on August 6 as a practical activity for people to share the pain with families of AO victims and promote the gratitude bearing tradition of the community. The programme also aims to emphasise the responsibility of the community and the US government towards AO victims.

Mr Niem said State President Nguyen Minh Triet will receive representatives of families of AO victims at the Presidential Palace on August 6.
