The German Ministry of Development has agreed to provide an additional amount of 117 million euros for a number of projects on environmental protection, vocational training and health care in Vietnam within two years (2008 – 2009).

This was announced by the German Embassy in Hanoi on April 17.

The German Government is also keen to support Vietnamese projects on wastewater and rubbish treatment in urban areas and on forest protection, vocational training and health care in rural areas.

According to the Embassy, with an average annual economic growth rate of 8 percent, Vietnam is one of the world’s most dynamic economies and is considered one of Germany’s most important partners in Asia.
