The US$500,000 contract for the friendly match between Brazil’s Olympic team and the Vietnamese national squad was signed in Singapore on July 20.

The signatories included Le Hung Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), and Sidi Airouss, President of Match World Football SA (MFSA) – the representative of the Brazilian football team.

Under the contract, Brazil’s Olympic team, which includes several world stars such as Ronaldinho, Robinho, Pato, Anderson, Diego and Lucas, is set to play the Vietnamese national squad at the My Dinh national stadium in Hanoi on August 1.

In preparation for the upcoming dream match, the national squad’s formation, including the 20 best players chosen by coach Henrique Calisto, is expected to be revealed by July 21. The match will be a good chance for the national team to learn from its world-renowned Southern American counterparts and also to promote Vietnamese football’s image overseas.

According to Sidi Airouss, this is also considered an opportunity for Brazil’s Olympic team to sharpen up for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

This is part of their tour to Southeast Asia. The Brazilians are scheduled to take on Singapore on July 27 before flying to Vietnam on July 29 for the friendly with the hosts.
