The biennial cultural-tourist event aims to enhance international cooperation in preserving and developing cultural values of heritages, as well as boosting inter-regional tourism promotion in the three Indochina countries, particularly those areas with world cultural heritage sites. It will also create a venue for officials, investors, researchers, artists and tourists from inside and outside the country to meet and share experience.

The official opening ceremony will take place in the ancient town of Hoi An on June 27, and will be broadcast live on VTV3 channel.

The festival will be kicked off by cultural - art - culinary festive days of various ethnic groups. During the festival, various activities will also be held, including art performances by Kinh, Cham and Co Tu people; a Vespa festival; Wat Phou - My Son - Angkor night festival; Hoi An ancient town - Luangphrabang ancient capital night festival, and Indochina - cultural harmony night festival.

On the occasion, large museums of Vietnam, Lao and Cambodia will organize impressive exhibitions to highlight special features of Indochinese culture, Sa Huynh – Champa culture in Quang Nam and Vietnamese folk art in order to help tourists understand more about the history and culture of ethnic groups living in Indochina. In addition, a number of sporting events will also be held, such as games at Cua Dai beach, boat racing and a beach volleyball tournament.
