The Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association (VCFA) Central Committee and the VCFA Hanoi Chapter held a meeting in Hanoi on July 24 to celebrate the 53rd anniversary of the attack on the Moncada Barracks in Cuba (July 26).

Chairman of the People's Committee of Hanoi's Dong Da District Tran Duc Hoc and Cuban Charge d'affaires in Vietnam Gabriel Perez Tarrau, recalled their memories of the attack launched 53 years ago by Cuban patriots under the leadership of Fidel Castro.

Mr Hoc expressed thanks to the Party, Government and people of Cuba for their support and assistance to the Vietnamese people during their past struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as in their current cause of national construction and defence.
