Weightlifter Hoang Anh Tuan took home a silver and two bronze medals from the World Weightlifting Championships which concluded in Dominica on October 1.

Anh Tuan participated in the final competition against China’s Li Zheng and Cuba’s Sergio Alvarez Boulet in the 56kg category and made a 124kg snatch for the silver medal, just 4kg lighter than the level of gold medalist Li Zheng.

The 21-year-old Hanoian then won a bronze medal in the clean and jerk with 152kg, completing both events with a combined weight of 276kg.

Tuan previously earned a gold medal at the World Youth Weightlifting Championships in Busan in the Republic of Korea last year with his 123kg snatch, and a silver medal at a World Championships in Doha.
