The three-day workshop forms part of a project designed to improve the Vietnamese media’s capacity, funded by the Swedish Government.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan, Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Review, briefed participants on the major contents of the draft handbook.

Swedish media experts presented issues related to media ethics, experiences in tackling violations, and typical, real-life stories about situations that occurred in Sweden.

Participants discussed in groups a wide range of media ethics violations and put forth measures to prevent these problems.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Le Qui Doan joined representatives from the Swedish Embassy in Hanoi, relevant agencies and leaders of centrally and locally-run newspapers at the seminar.
