The Vietnam National Sports Committee has announced a list of 20 footballers to play against Indonesian rivals on June 6 in the second qualifying round of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
These athletes include goalkeeper Duc Cuong, half-back Minh Chuyen, and striker Cong Vinh, and two new ones – half-back Phung Cong Minh from Binh Duong Club and striker Nguyen Tang Tuan from Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club.
They will gather in the Hanoi-based National Sports Training Centre from June 1-7.
Despite the absence of halfbacks Quang Tinh, Tien Hanh (both with yellow cards), and Duy Nam (injured), the team’s leaders feel confident about a victory over Indonesia.
