The authorities of Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh capital of Cambodia, held a working session on March 5 to expand their co-operation in the future.
A Vietnamese delegation, led by Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Le Thanh Hai met with Phnom Penh Mayor Kep Chuk Tema to discuss the implementation of projects to plant 4,000 ha of rubber trees in Kong Pong Cham, set up a medical practice, provide free eye surgery for the poor, and build hotels in Phnom Penh.

They agreed to speed up a project to build a branch of the Cho Ray hospital in Phnom Penh at a cost of US$10.5 million and a US$3.6 million project of the Sai Gon Trade Corporation to build an aquatic produce processing factory and an abattoir in Kandal province of Cambodia.

Over the past years, Ho Chi Minh City has also helped Phnom Penh to perform free eye operations for over 1,780 poor patients and to build 42 classrooms.

In addition, the exhibition of high-quality Vietnamese products has been held regularly in Phnom Penh.
