The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment presented its insignia “For the Cause of Natural Resources and Environment in Vietnam” to Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam Jan-Olov Agrell in Hanoi on January 19.

Before becoming ambassador to Vietnam, Jan-Olov Agrell was involved in devising co-operative projects between Vietnam and Sweden, including a programme on renovating land administration systems, a project on enhancing environmental management agencies’ capacity, and another programme on land and environment management, between 1997 and 2003.

The Swedish diplomat has helped greatly in co-ordinating funding for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and especially in promoting sustainable development in Vietnam by integrating environment-related issues into policies.
