The draw ceremony for the final qualifying round of the 2008 Beijing Olympics will be held at the headquarters of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on June 13, according to the Vietnam Football Federation.

After the second qualifying round, 12 teams will compete in the final round, namely Bahrain and Qatar (Group A), Japan and Syria ((Group B), Vietnam and Lebanon (Group C), Saudi Arabia, and Australia (Group D), Iraq and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (Group E) and the Republic of Korea and Uzbekistan (Group F).

They will be divided into three groups and compete in the round robin format from August 22 to November 21. The winners from each group will earn a place at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

With their good results, Iraq, Japan and the Republic of Korea have been selected top seeds of the three groups. This means Vietnam will meet one of these three strong rivals.
