An exhibition featuring 200 pictures and objects of women - mothers overcoming destiny was held at the Vietnam Women Museum in Hanoi on March 7.

The exhibition introduced 30 examples of women who have overcome their difficult circumstances and devoted themselves to bringing up their children and

pictures of children behaving well towards to their parents and striving to be good students.


The Museum Director Nguyen Thi Tuyet said the exhibition aims to give visitors a deeper insight into women’s life, to encourage people from all walks of life, especially young people to be grateful to their parents and to promote the traditional values of families in a modern society. This is a precious gift to all mothers and women on the occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8).


The Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL), the Vietnam Women Museum and Labour newspaper have jointly launched a writing contest to praise women’s efforts in overcoming their difficult circumstances and outstanding women who are good at both household and state affairs.


The awards ceremony will be held on October 20 to mark the establishment of the VWU and welcome the 10th National Women Congress.
