Vietnam supports the United Nations General Assembly approval of Ban Ki-Moon, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea (RoK), as next UN secretary general, said Vietnamese Permanent Representative to the UN Le Luong Minh at a meeting between Ban Ki-Moon and representatives of Asian countries to the UN on October 11.

Mr Minh welcomed the nomination of Mr Ban, a representative from the Asian country that has close relations and effective cooperation with Vietnam as the new UN chief.

He said Vietnam will create favorable conditions for Mr Ban to fulfill his lofty mission as the top leader of the UN.
