Oscar-nominated film to screen in Vietnam

(VOV) -American film Boyhood, which has been nominated The Academy Awards or The Oscars, will make its debut in Vietnam on March 6.

It won Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role (Patricia Arquette) and was nominated in Best Motion Picture of the Year (Richard Linklater and Cathleen Sutherland), Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role (Ethan Hawke), Best Achievement in Directing (Richard Linklater), Best Writing, Original Screenplay (Richard Linklater), and Best Achievement in Film Editing (Sandra Adair).

The film has also been named many times in the nominations and awards ceremonies, including Golden Globes Awards, BAFTA Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, AFI Awards, Alliance of Women Film Journalists, American Cinema Editors, Australian Film Institute, Awards Circuit Community Awards, Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards, Bodil Awards, Casting Society of America.

Richard Linklater's Boyhood is a groundbreaking story of growing up as seen through the eyes of a child named Mason (Ellar Coltrane), who literally grows up on screen before our eyes. Starring Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette as Mason's parents and newcomer Lorelei Linklater as his sister Samantha, Boyhood charts the rocky terrain of childhood like no other film has before and is both a nostalgic time capsule of the recent past and an ode to growing up and parenting.
