The assessment was made by an official from the Asian Football Confederation during his meeting with Minister-Chairman of the State Committee for Physical Training and Sports Nguyen Danh Thai in Hanoi on May 3 after conducting a two-day survey on stadiums and infrastructure in Vietnam.

The assessment will give Vietnam much hope of playing host to the final round of the AFC Asian Cup 2007, alongside Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.

The official said he was very impressed at Vietnam’s efforts to prepare for the event. “As Minister Thai said once the final round takes place in Vietnam, it will be organised not only by the Vietnam Football Federation but also by the Government. This means all relevant agencies will join efforts to ensure the success of the event”, the official added.
