The Vietnamese government always wishes to enhance all-round cooperation with Australia in general and Queensland State in particular.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said when receiving Queensland’s Minister of Transport, Trade, Employment and Industrial Relations John Mickel in Hanoi on March 27.

PM Dung expressed his delight at the growing cooperation between Queensland and Vietnam’s ministries and agencies in education and training and agriculture. He voted a milch cow breeding programme in northern Tuyen Quang province and projects to help farmers kill insects in several northern provinces.

For his part, Minister John Mickel, who is on a Vietnam visit from March 27 to April 1, expressed his wish to expand bilateral cooperation in tourism, transport and mining sectors.

After the reception, the two sides witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on developing coal gasification technologies and diesel production between the Vietnam Coal and Minerals Group and Queensland’s Linc Energy Company.
