The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on December 8 launched a project entitled “Empowerment of Women in the Public Sector in the Context of International Economic Integration.”

Accordingly, the UNDP and the credit fund of the Cambridge University will provide around 20 MA and 6 Ph.D scholarships worth more than US$5 million to Vietnamese women who work in State-owned agencies. Furthermore, the project will help women to undertake advanced study and research courses with lecturers at Cambridge University and to participate in conferences and seminars in various fields.

The scholarship programme will last from 2009 to 2012.

Women who are interested in the scholarship programme can attend one of two seminars which will be held at Melia Hotel in Hanoi on December 12 –13 or seek information on the website www.eowp.net.
