A delegation of the Japanese National Confederation of Trade Unions (ZENROREN), led by Vice President Yukio Iwata, worked with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) on September 12.

The ZENROREN delegation said they want to share experiences with the VGCL in poverty reduction and hunger alleviation, as well as the building of trade union organisations in foreign-invested enterprises.

They also inquired into trade unions' operation in Japanese-invested companies in Vietnam.

VGCL Vice President Nguyen Dinh Thang said Vietnam hoped to learn from ZENROREN's experiences in protecting workers' legitimate rights and interests.

During their stay in Vietnam from September 11-16 at the invitation of the VGCL, the ZENROREN delegation will visit the Garment 10 Company in Hanoi and the labour confederations of Quang Ninh province and Ho Chi Minh City.
