Vietnam won two bronze medals in the 18th Asian Wrestling Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan on April 11.

In the women's 55kg category, wrestler Nghiem Thi Giang successfully defended her medal from last year's tournament, beating a rival from Kyrgyzstan 2-0.

The second medal went to Le Thi Trang who earned a silver medal in last year's 47kg pool.

Vietnam, the only one representative from Southeast Asia region, sent five female wrestlers to the tournament but Nguyen Thi Hai Yen, Luong Thi Quyen and Dang Thi Van failed to clinch the games.

The Japanese team took first place with five golds and China finished second with two gold medals at the event.
