A new Vietnamese flower supermarket was opened by Vice President of the Vietnamese Association in Japan, Ngo Hung Lam, on October 8.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vietnamese ambassador to Japan, Nguyen Phu Binh, expressed his hope that the flower supermarket will become a central location for the Vietnamese community in Japan to organise exchanges that will help strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation.

Mr Binh said that he was very proud of the success of Vietnamese people in Japan.

This is the second flower supermarket owned by Mr Lam, an overseas Vietnamese who has lived in Chiba prefecture more than 30 years. The supermarket has an area of 4,000 square metres displaying over 200 different kinds of flowers, with an estimated revenue of more than US$10,000.

Mr Lam added that the opening of his second supermarket will help him increase his financial sources to implement charity activities in Vietnam. Currently, Mr Lam is planning a project to build a primary school in a disadvantaged region in Vietnam.
