Giant construction company Vinaconex is implementing a US$600-million project to build Vietnam’s first urban-tourist area in the port city of Hai Phong.

The Cat Gia-Cat Ba urban project will be built over eight to ten years on an area of 171ha at the gateway to the Cat Ba World Biosphere Reserve next to well-known Ha Long Bay.

The project will include four villages with nearly 1000 villas, a chain of 3-5 star hotels, a 25,000m2 international convention centre, Tung Thu Water Park, and many sports and recreation complexes.

Vinaconex has completed the site clearance and will begin construction on an area of 10ha.
