School children in northern Lang Son province’s Kien Moc commune are now enjoying new learning facilities in a Japanese-funded primary school.

The new US$87,000 school was inaugurated on June 26, with 10 classrooms aimed at giving local children better access to education.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam, Mitsuo Sakaba, expressed his hope that the school will help improve education quality for local children.

The project is part of Japan’s non-refundable aid programme for Vietnamese localities from 2006.
