Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Ong Keng Yong visited London on December 4 to promote the dynamic ten-member regional grouping and call for more British investment in ASEAN member countries.

During the visit, jointly organised by the ASEAN Committee in London and Britain’s Asia House, Mr Ong met British Minister of State for Trade, Investment and Foreign Affairs Ian McCartney, and had a working session with the ASEAN Committee in London.

At a banquet attended by British government officials, lawmakers and entrepreneurs, as well as the diplomatic corps in London, the ASEAN chief urged Britain to further strengthen trade, investment and business relations with ASEAN.
