As many as 200 delegates from UNESCO clubs nationwide attended the third national congress of the Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Clubs (VFUC), which was held in Hanoi on March 25.

Over the previous term, the VFUC admitted more than 1,200 members, set up a UNESCO centre for research and preservation of Vietnamese artifacts, and organised many activities including the exhibition on Thang Long Royal Citadel artifacts.

During the congress, participants gave opinions on the federation’s activities in the next five years, focusing on such fields as education, culture, science, and communications, as well as external affairs.

The congress elected its new executive committee for the 2006-2010 term, headed by Nguyen Truc Luyen.
