Domestic tax collection for 2007 is estimated to hit VND233.3 trillion, 4.4 percent above plan, showing year-on-year increase of 13.6 percent.

According to the General Department of Taxation, crude oil is expected to bring in VND71.7 trillion alone and the rest will come from domestic collection.

The department also reported an increase of 38.6 percent in tax collection from private-owned enterprises, exceeding VND30 trillion, and a 37 percent increase in personal income tax collection, which recorded VND7.1 billion.

In particular, domestic collection rises to over VND500 billion in 46 localities, and over VND1 trillion in 30 other localities.

However, the tax department said shortcomings in tax declaration and supervision still exist and called for implementation of drastic measures for tax debt management.
