8 of the most impressive ao dai designs

(VOV) -We’ve gathered here our choices for the top eight most impressive ao dai designs of all time.

A gold-inlaid ‘ao dai’ designed by Phu Nhuan Jewellery Company (PNJ) and worn by Supermodel Thanh Hang on the final night of the 2nd Vietnam International Fashion Week on October 18 at the Gem Centre in Ho Chi Minh City.

The costume took 30 veteran PNJ artisans 240 hours to make and featured an image of a phoenix symbolizing Vietnamese women’s dignity with 2,000 illuminating decorations made of 24k gold.

Miss Ocean Vietnam 2014 Dang Thu Thao has donned her extravagant ocean-themed ao dai (traditional Vietnamese long gown) worth over US$200,000 designed by Vo Viet Chung in the National Costumes round of the ongoing Miss International Beauty Pageant 2014 in Japan

A dress designed by designer Thuan Viet worn by Truong Thi May wore at the 2013 Miss Universe beauty contest. It was inspired by the lotus and had the two main colours of red and yellow. 

Lastly, a 15 metre long ao dai designed by Nhat Dung.
