KBS, VOV strengthen cooperation

A high-raking delegation from Radio The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) led by Deputy General Director Vu Hai paid a working visit to the Korean Broadcasting Station (KBS) on July 12.

The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation between VOV and KBS in producing programmes and to share experience in multi-media development.

During a meeting with KBS radio channel’s executive director Sung Dae Kyung, Hai highlighted effective cooperation between VOV and KBS and proposed measures to boost bilateral relations in the future.

He stressed the need to sign a cooperative agreement between the two radios in line with the new area of development.

Hai also briefed his host on VOV’s significant achievements, including rapid development of four forms of media – radio, TV, print and online newspaper.

He hoped that VOV and KBS would continue to promote the exchange of reporters and officers as well as sharing experience in developing modern multi-media.

He praised KBS’s initiatives in cooperating with VOV to organize activities to mark the 20th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) in 2012.

While staying in the RoK, the Vietnamese delegation visited the Namsan broadcasting station and other KBS channels, including Radio 2, FM2, KBS World and Vietnamese section staff.

Since 1995, VOV and KBS have cooperated effectively in both bilateral and multilateral activities as members of the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU).
