The largest relief of Vietnam’s ancient culture is expected to be completed before the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi on October 10, 2010.

The piece of work, which is 72 metres long and 9.9 metres high, will be placed in the Hung King temple complex in the northern midland province of Phu Tho. It will feature the Van Lang culture with unique cultural traditions and festivals from many regions around the country.

In addition, the tableau will be made using colourful pottery and portray Vietnamese people in their lives and their hard struggle for better livehood and peace, with the typical images of Vietnam ’s original ancestors, Lac Long Quan and Au Co, bronze drums and square and round glutinous rice cakes which symbolized the Earth and Heaven.
