Vietnam rose from 89 in 2009 to 71 this year in the global trade environment rankings announced by the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The survey examines the performance of 125 economies, of which Singapore and Hong Kong (China) continue to top the list thanks to an increase in global trade.

Economists believe that Vietnam will be one of the countries to see a lot of progress in 2010. This can be attributed to the country’s joining the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the opening up of its market according to its commitments.
