State President Nguyen Minh Triet has called on the entire people to take part in a humanitarian blood donation campaign, which is part of activities to mark Voluntary Blood Donation Day, April 7.

In his recent letter to the entire people, Mr Triet said blood donation to save lives is a moral action, showing responsibility and unity of community.

In the recent past, humanitarian blood donation movements have made remarkable progress despite localities, agencies, units and individuals paying no real attention, Mr Triet said.

The State President asked individuals, collective organisations and especially managers to actively engage in blood donation activities and to consider it a social responsibility and obligation.
