The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has held a seminar in the southcentral coastal province of Khanh Hoa to discuss policies to assist fishermen in exploiting aquatic resources.
Participants in the seminar said that according to the prime minister’s decision 289, each fisherman will receive VND70 million per year to build a fishing boat with a capacity of 90cv or more.
The state will cover 30 percent of the insurance cost for ships with a capacity of 40cv or more and 100 percent of accident insurance for sailors.
Khanh Hoa is the first province chosen for the pilot programme to support fishermen.
