Since early this year, the southern province of Binh Duong has licensed 116 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total registered capital of US$324.9 million.

Binh Duong has also permitted 86 operational FDI projects to add US$189.4 million to their investment.
The newly licensed projects have raised the number of FDI projects in the province to 1,203, with a total value of US$5.56 billion.

Binh Duong recently ranked first on the Provincial Competitiveness Index 2006 by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), thanks to its investment incentives and simplified administrative procedures for businesses.
