The CIO Awards aimed to honour outstanding CIOs who have successfully implemented important IT projects in organizations and enterprises. The awards recognized business innovation and leadership capacity of CIOs. It was not just a basic technology-oriented award.

The organizing board also presented awards to best IT products in 2007 selected by CIOs and chief executive officers (CEOs).
